REVIEW - HOTSPOT GLASWERK DEN HAAG
The Binckhorst, an industrial area in The Hague, is rapidly changing and growing into a residential area. New culinary initiatives like Mama Kelly and Capriole make this area worth coming to and since a few weeks there is a new hotspot: Glaswerk
Glaswerk is not only a restaurant but also a wine bar. There are many bites you can order to accompany your wine. We ordered some 'bitterballen' made from sustainable oyster mushrooms from De Haagse Zwam. These vegetarian bitterballen are almost as if you are eating a normal one and are really tasty. We also ordered the perfect cheese platter. At least for me. The combination of the cheeses was great and they were all perfectly matured. It was served with a pear chutney and crispy nut bread.
Apart from a wine bar, Glaswerk is also opened for lunch and dinner. They offer different kind small dishes like cold seabass, a steak tartare and a steamed bun with pork belly. You can also decide to get surprised by Chef Bas and get a 3 course dinner for €35,50.
The location is one of the best at the Brinkhorst. Opposite of another hotspot Capriole and next to a great new little harbor, Glaswerk is a great new hotspot with lots of potential. When we were there it was only open for a few weeks and the sommelier was not even present yet and they will also get an attachment built soon.
